Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year – I’m Taking a Long Break

- December 25, 2016

merry christmas The only thing I can think of saying is have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I’m done with all of this nonsense for the time being. And nonsense it is.

I don’t enjoy writing anymore. Not very many people seem to enjoy reading anymore. Well, not at websites like mine. I probably should have stopped when people stopped reacting to this one. That was a long time ago.

Merry Christmas Mark Zuckerberg

Thank you for creating Facebook, the most popular social network in existence. Moreover, thank you for making it so enticing that my former visitors no longer visit. Okay, so it’s not your fault that I suck at what I do.

It’s merely coincidental that I’m slamming on the brakes on Christmas Day. Today simply reminded me of how much I don’t enjoy doing what I do anymore. I haven’t quit yet but it could be my next move.

The Good Articles will Stick Around

The not-so-good articles won’t. The good articles will stick around until they’re no longer being viewed by humans (as opposed to bots) or until they’re no longer making me enough money to cover the web hosting fee.

The undeniable truth is that I really don’t have anything to write about without it being contrived. I don’t get around like I used to so I don’t get the ideas I used to get. I may rewrite and republish some existing articles but I won’t be writing anything new.

I’m not Passionate

That’s the biggest problem I have. I’m not passionate about writing anything anymore. I enjoy tinkering with PHP scripts, web design (CSS and JavaScript) and building test sites more than writing about them. Maybe I’m just getting old. I don’t seem to be passionate about any one thing anymore.

If this website is still here next Christmas (2017), it will be a Christmas miracle. If it isn’t, I’ll probably be working on a different website. A website that isn’t an article site like this one.
