Backstreet Boys – The Best-Selling Boy Band in History (So Far)

May 30, 2017

I was busy in the 1990s, so I missed out on a lot of the music from that period, including the music of the Backstreet Boys. I didn’t have any albums from any of the boy bands at all.

Their music probably played on the radio while I was driving from one place to another, but I can’t say whether it did or didn’t. I really don’t remember. I spent a lot of time driving in dead zones, where I couldn’t pick up anything but talk radio on the AM dial.

One of my less time-consuming hobbies is collecting music. It’s the music I like listening to, regardless of the genre. It wasn’t until this year that I finally collected some music from the Backstreet Boys, prompted by the ending sequence in the movie “This Is the End“.

This isn’t the only boy band I enjoy listening to and I hope to go over some of the others in the near future. There’s one band in particular that I haven’t listened to recently (whether I remember any of their music is yet to be determined).

Quit Playing Games (With My Heart) – 1996

Everybody (Backstreet’s Back) – 1997

This is the song used in that ending sequence. I thought about showing you the clip from the movie, but it’s way too short.

I Want It That Way – 1999

Backstreet Boys in Other Media

Other than music videos, that is. I knew about the documentary but I didn’t know about the movie. Until today.

Apparently, they starred in a movie called “Dead 7, which aired on the SyFy channel in 2016. It’s a western/zombie movie produced by “The Asylum” (famous for mockbusters), so it’s probably horrible. I’ll give it a shot and watch it if I can find a copy of it. It’ll probably be one of the many throwaway movies I’ve watched over the years.
